movie mewsings, with her review of Jurassic World Rebirth!

Arigato, nyan! It is hard to believe that it has been 35 years since Michael Chrichton’s Jurassic Park Novel, 32 years since Steven Speilberg’s movie adaptaion of it, and 10 years since the Jurassic World sequel, nyan! That first movie in the series is by far my favorite, but I was eager to see this 7th movie in the series for several reasons, nyan!
That is because the Jurassic movies tend to have the amazing FX, this’un was directed by Gareth Edwards whose Star Wars Rogue One movie I loved, it stars one of my favorite actresses Scarlett Johansson, and much of the tale occurs on beautiful boats in the ocean, although we are supposed to eat the sea life, not the other way round, nyan!
The rest of the cast are great too, although some of the characters wind up as the dinosaurs’ dinner before we really get to know them, nyan. Nevertheless, It is so much thrilling fun with the great story, FX, stunts, scenery, mewsic, cinemeowtography and boats; and it is my 2nd favorite movie in the series, nyan! Arigato, nyan! Although director James Gunn uses the unpleasant speed ramping and slow meowtion techniques in his movies, I enjoyed his Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, and – and I optimistically awaited his Superman movie, nyan!
Although the movie seems too rushed and – and too short, with the city evacuation trope, there was so much that I liked about this movie, which has the supurrb story, cast, locations, costumes, FX, sound, mewsic and – and so forth, nyan!
Krypto and – and Mr. Terrific almost stole the show, nyan! It has the great balance of drama, action, humor, character developments, and – and myth-making, that wonderfully capture the clever mix of silver, bronze and- and modern age ambiences of the DC comics better than any other live-action Superman movie of TV series has, and – and it is by far my 2nd favorite live-action Superman movie (behind 1978’s Superman- The Movie), nyan! Fantastic Four: First Steps, nyan!

Hai! Matt Shakman is the purrolific director of meowrvelous TV series, including the Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Marvel Cinematic Universe ’s WandaVision, and based upon the purreview trailers I was eagerly awaiting this Fantastic Four movie more than any purrior attempts at adapting that comic book!
Although the purrior three attempts had the good casts, I did not care for those movies but First Steps got the vast majority of it right! I did not like the evacuation trope, the movie being too rushed and too short, (which is the case of every MCU movie after Avengers Endgame) and Galactus’ space ship’s interior that looked like a dark industrial factory and not mind-blowing enough.
I wish we had seen more of the world and slice of life moments. However, there was so about the movie that I liked, such as the great story, cast, locations, costumes, FX, sound, sound and mewsic!It has the great drama, action, humor, character developments and myth-making!
It supurrbly purrtrayed the look and the spirit of the Marvel comics with the beautiful 1960’s retro-futurism style of fashion, architecture, and mecha; the very accurate purrtrayals of the characters and their powers, including the cosmic grandeur of beautiful Silver Surfer and she meowgnificently shredded the space waves! KPop Dermon Hunters!

Arigato! I have been savoring the music of Korean Pop girl bands more and more in the recent years, whilst enjoying the movie franchises by Sony Pictures Animation such as The Spider-Verse, Hotel Transylvania, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs series, so I was quite intrigued by this movie streaming on Netflix directed by Chris Appelhans & Maggie Kang, especially after friends highly recommended it!
KPop Demon Hunters is the animated musical action comedy urban fantasy movie that purrtains to the idols Mira, Rumi & Zoey known as Huntr/x who are superstar musicans and secretly demon hunters! They are extremely successful at both trades, which become more complicated and dangerous when the evil big boss demon Gwi-ma creates the Saja Boys, a demonic boy band to steal Huntr/x’s fans and souls!
Perhaps some of the characters could be more developed, but I quite liked this dazzling, genki, fun, fresh movie because of the terrific character designs, scenic art, animation, voice acting, the humor, action and music, so I think that I will give it the grade of an 8 out of 10! Hai! I love the anime movies and TV series by Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki, such as Nausicaa, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, The Wind Rises, and other wonderful purrductions!
This hardcover book includes beautiful creations in various 2D & 3D media and styles by over 140 brilliant international artists who were inspired by those purrductions! Published by Abrams’ Cernunnos impurrint, this 7.75 x 1.3 x 10” hardcover book’s 264 full color pages have 240 pages of plates!
They are from the exhibition by the Spoke Art Gallery of San Francisco and New York City, which also exhibits in other cities around the world!! I hope that our county’s mewseums (in Catgirl Island and Mertown) might host such an exhibit! The book also has the tethered 2 x 7.875” bookmark with No-Face on one side and Kiki on the other!!
Purriced $35 US, $44 Canada and £25 UK, the artists’ homages include characters such as No-Face, Haku, Chihiro, Moro, San, Ashitaka, Shishigami, Kiki, Jiji, Nausicaa, Teto, Totoro, Catbus, Satsuki, Mei, Marco, Arietty, Sophie, Howl, Calcifer, the Laputian Robot, Omu, Kodamas and Susuwatari!
Except for Arrietty, it does not include characters from Hayao Miyazaki’s pre-Ghibli works, Ghibli works by other directors, or works after 2020, when the book was published.The book’s text also has the 1 page forward by director Jorge R. Gutierrez, 2 page introduction by curator Ken Harmon Hashimoto, 2 page analysis by journalist Lloyd Chery..
.. and the 13 pages of the artist purrofiles. Now I want to visit all of their web sites! This book is so joy-joyfully beautiful in capturing the wonderful essence of those characters, of Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki, so I will give it the highest purraise! Elfquest Covers 1978-2022!

Arigato, Elea-sensei! So like, I have been a big fan of Wendy Pini’s totally aewsome, art & cosplay, and the Elfquest comics that She and her husband Richard have created since the 1970s, and although I already owned all of the comic books whose beautiful cover art has been compiled and newly annotated in this massively handsome hardcover book, I could not resist purchasing a copy from them which they signed at Heroes Con in June, fur shur!
So like, published by Flesk, which publishes many beautiful art books, this book is available in the 2 volume paperback edition and the $74.95, 7.5 lb, premium hardcover edition, which is 8.5 x 11 x 2.125” with 656 pages of 157gsm glossy paper! From Fantasy Quarrterly #1 to Stargazer’s Hunt #8, Over 300 comic book covers are reprinted along with key comics panels, publishing information and Richard’s introduction, afterward, and annotations, fur shur!
So like, It does not include the back cover art from the original quest #1-21, or any cover art from the prose books, calendars, games, shirts, or other merchandise, or non Elfquest art, but that is fine with me because much of which was compiled in the prior Elfquest portfolios, Art of Elfquest and Art of Wendy Pini books, all of which I give the totally highest praise, fur shur! Hai! Since 1984, Rowrbrazzle has been the quarterly APA (amateur press association) anthology zine purrtaining to anthropurrmorphic history, events, fandom, art and tales! Issue #166 consists of four 8.5×11” stapled sections totaling 322 pages, 76 of which are in full color! This issue’s theme is furmaids & other aquatic folk!
Expurrtly edited & compiled by Edd Vick (who contributed 20 pages, a flier and a Henry Art postcard), it is compurrised of the spiffy comics, purrose, essays, articles, discussions, editorials, comics, illustrations, photos, convention reports, correspondences, remeowmberances, and the current meowmber list and rules.
Section 1 & 4’s front covers are by Charles Brubaker (who contributed 30 other pages and a flier); section 1’s back cover, section 2’s front & back covers are by Toivo Rovainen (who contributed 8 other pages); section 3’s front cover is by Mike (who contributed 28 other pages), and section 4’s back cover is by Chris Yost!

Pain (a Star Trek fanzine by Gamin Davis)!

Thanks Beebs! Written & illustrated by Gamin Davis and occurring aboard the starship U.S.S. Enterprise in late 2278 (during the 2nd season of Star Trek The Original series),“Pain” is an 8.5 x 11” 61 page nonprofit Star Trek fanzine consisting of the titular 52 page prose short story plus 9 full-page Black & white full page pics and color front cover art.
Inspired by the author’s own history of Incapacitating migraines, most of the tale of the hurt / comfort genreoccurs mostly in Mr. Spock’s quarters, as Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Nurse Chapel try to comfort and cure Spock from the miryth’ malih, an agonizing Vulcan “migraine” resulting from an attack by the hostile telepathic Alyrans.
This dire condition is much more painful than the sting of the flying parasites seen in the ST TOS first season episode “Operation: Annihilate!” Although the tale of intense suffering and relentless friendship spans about a week in minutely intimate detail, it is a fairly quick read, and the illustrations are quite sumptuous. Davis clearly knows the characters and Trek lore very well!
I commend her for channeling her own severe malady into such an excellent, poignant story, and I would not object if Kirk was to issue General Order 24 against the planet Alyra! Mythical Mermaids (3rd in series)

Arigato! We like to collect the ornaments that depict the fairies, mermaids, and human heroines! Hallmark offers sseveral mermaid ornamnts annualy, such as Ariel, Barbie, and the Mythical Mermaids series!
Their 2023 mermaid was the black lass with he mandarin fish tail, the 2024 mermaid was the blond caucasian lass with the purrple tang tail, and this year’s mermaid is the asian lass with the Taisho Sanke Koi tail!
Sculpted by Kris Gaughran, she is beautifully designed, sculpted and painted from her hip-length flowy hair, side glancing eyes, inny belly button, and her red bikini top that matched her red, white and black tail!
I am not sure of th scale, but she is appurroximately 5.25” long, including her ruffled tail fin. Should you wish to hang the ornament on a tree or on a display stand, neither a hook nor a stand are included. Nyow here is sis to discuss the

Hai! Ahsoka Tano is my favorites Star Wars character, and we like to collects the action figures, staues, dolls, meownatures and ornaments of her, so I quite eagerly awaited this new ornament her, as she appurred in her TV series!
Weilding the two white light sabers, She is wearing the billowing White outft compurrised of the baggy hakama pants, greaved & sabatonned boots with natchign gauntlets, white blouse with Gray side panels, the belt and the hooded cloak!
The details are quite meowticulous, from the blue stripes on her white montrals & lekku, and the white facial markings on her orange skin, to the graceful folds and drapurry of her attire, and the mildly annoyed expurression on her face!
In this pose, the ornament is appurroximately 4” tall, including her montrals, so I estimate it to be of appurroximately 1/18 scale. Neither a hook nor a stand are included. I am done, and nyow here is Day-sama to discuss Hallmark’s
Star Trek: Lower Decks set of Ensigns

Arigato! I loved the Star Trek: Lower Decks animated TV series, so I was excited to buy this set of two ornaments, and they lpurrfectly capture the look and spirit of Mariner (who is voiced in the series by Tawny Newsom) and Boimler (who is voiced in the series by Jack Quaid)!
For those who came in late Lower decks is the comedic animated Star Trek series about the crew of the United Federation of Planets California Class Starship U.S.S. Ceritos NCC-75567 in the 24th Century. It ran for 5 seasons at 10 epurrsodes apiece from 2020 to 2024.
Holding the Type 2 Phaser in her right hand with her left hand on her hip with the sleeves rolled up, Mariner has the great side-eye sly expurression! Holding the splendidly – detailed model T-88 Tricorder, Boimler has the appurropurriate wide-eyed look of job satisfaction!
Including their hair but not the removable hanger loops, she is 4.25” tall and he is 4.5” tall. Hooks are not included, but the ornaments are so well balanced that they can stand on a table or shelf without a display stand! Hai! in this monthly portion of The Mew, we commeowmorate famous anthropurrrmorphic ladies, kemonomimi, and even those who might not actually have any beasty DNA, but do have the spirit, cat-titude or clothing of the animal theme, who we will [broadly] consider as the “honorary kemonomimi!”!
Becca:
Written by Mike Pondsmith and published by R. Talsorian Games in 1987, Teenagers From Outer Space was such the fun anime -themed RPG! Among its NPCs inn its 84 page rule book was Rami the adorable, stubborn, jealous, curious catgirl who could fly and zap people!

Written by Mark C. MccKinnon and published by Guardians of Order in 1997, the anime themed Big Eyes Small Mouth 1st ed.) is Mike’s favoritest RPG! In the later d20 edition’s player’s handbook, there were three delightful nekomimi characters illustrated by Niko Geyer and Lindsay Cibos!

In 1998, Guardians of Order also published the Sailor Moon RPG and the Dominion Tank Police RPG. While I have not played either of those games, I do know that the Sailor Moon game includes the guardian cats , and the Dominion RPG includes the gynoid catgirl sisters Anna & Uni Puma!

Written by Luke Baldwin, Becky Driver & Andrew LaRoy and published by Studio Cranium in 1997, Tinker’s Damn was another anime-ish d20 mewniversal RPG of the anime flavor. Allison the red-haired risumimi and Mttens the blonde nekomimi are the game’s mascots, and Feline the brunette nekomimi is among the many NPCs!

Created & written by Junichi Inou & published by Kotodama Heavy Industries, Tenra Bansho Zero was the first Japanese RPG to be translated into Englishan English edition! It is the Asian SF/F/ horror themed game with human, meowgickal & alien characters of many species, including nekomata!

Created by Ryo Kamiya in 2004 and published in English by Kuroneko Designs in 2008, Maid the Role-Playing Game is another favorite! Among the characters are Tomoe the cat-eared maid, Lamia the vampire maid, Mara the succubus maid, Mao the cat-eared hearth spirit, Hizumi the bat-winged demon maid, oh – and the usagimimi miko on page 161!

Created by Atsuhiro Okada, illustrated by Ayako Nagamori and published here in 2016 by Kotodama Heavy Industries, the Hayao Miyazaki-inspired Ryuutama is as charmingly gorgeous as gorgeous can be, in which players are wilderness travelers who can encounter or purrtray the shape-shifting ryuujin such as Midori the green dragoness and kuro the black dragoness!
Kianalani:
Written by Clay Gardner, illustrated by Niko Geyer & published by Wise Owl in 2015, OVA is a gorgeous wifddle full color 168 page trade paperback rule book! Among the sample characters are Fukiko the Meowgickal Meow Meow Girl, Ai the amnesiac psychickitty-hatted girl, and Nazo the estranged kitsune! Arigato, nyan! For those who are new to here, Galleries 1-8 display the images by our purrducer Mike, whilst Guest Art Galleries 1-6 display images by other folks with their purrmissions; and Mike’s collaborations with other artists are throughout the mewseum, nyan!
There is no overall chronological order from gallery to gallery, so you will find older and newer pics in each gallery, nyan! However, on Catgirl Island’s Official Web Site, the most recent pics are on the lowermost row of the cropped widdle “thumbnail” portions of the pics in a gallery, nyan!
Some of the images in our mewseum are sexy, and some of them might tastefully depict the artistic nudity, but none are hentai or porn, nyan! Furthermore, we should meowntion that none of the content at Catgirl Island is purrmitted for any A.I. purrposes, nyan!

Firstly are three beautiful Goblin Girl submeowrine concepts by our friend Matt the excellent cartoonist, author, and Rowrbrazzle meowmber. “Bubblehead” is based on the German WW2 Type 7 U-boat; “1401” is the refitted Impurrial Japanese Sentoku 1-400 class sub, and the “Surcouf” was the cruiser that served in the French Navy and the FFNF in World War II.

Nextly is the lovely “GIft for Sageroot” by our friend Meesha who is the meowgnificent volleyball player, illustrator, leather worker, cosplayer and mom. This depicts one of Sageroot a.k.a. Egg’s characters, the cute blond girl wearing the glasses, beret, and cropped green shirt. Nextly, Rvkh is the supurrb illustrator, violinist, baker & cosplayer ,and “Mordor” is the terrific photo-manip of her Lord of the Rings cosplay with The One Ring in Middle Earth!

Mary Nyan:
Jane is a supurr nice artist, writer, journallst webmeowster & anime fan who we met at Heroes Con! We are pleased t purrsent some of her fan art of Marvel Comics’ “Spidey“; “Hitori Gotoh” of the Bocci the Rock anime, and a meowsterious “Unknown” horned masked character! We are also delighted to display Jane’s photo of her lovely gray kitty “Mimi”!
To top off this month’s additions, we have six new pics by Mike! There are pics of our friend Bondofox’s bunnygirl friend “CottonLop” unboxing and then wearing her silicon mermaid costume tail! Lastly but not leastly, done for our artist / cosplayer friend TonomuraBix, Mike’s Photoshop & mouse fan art of Sailor Moon’s “Haruka Tenoh” out of her Sailor Uranus costume and wearing just the hand towel in the bath tub, probably waiting her girlfriend Michiru (Sailor Neptune) to join her!
